The excitement in the months leading up to the adventure – the planning,
the training, the budgeting, getting the right gear, and climbing local mountains; all culminated into one of the most profound experiences of my life.
Having a trusted guide such as Dwain helped ease myself and our whole group’s anxieties in preparing us for what was to come – yet nothing could have prepared us for what we were about to share.
From the moment I set foot in Tanzania, I felt such a warm sense of hospitality. Smiling locals were part of the whole journey: from the airport to the lodge, in the exploration of the town we were staying in, in the bus trip to the foot of Kilimanjaro, all the way up and down the mountain, and finally as we said goodbye – though there were fewer smiles then.
A priceless experience, especially knowing that I have newfound family in another country, which now feels like a second home. And what a beautiful country it is.

Climbing Kili with Dwain was a life-changing experience, he trained and guided me to summit not just a physical mountain but prepared me to summit personal mountains in my life.
I owe him a mind, body and soul experience I never thought possible at my age.
I’ve never felt more alive and close to creation and the Creator. This is the only way to live a full and meaningful life.

You have what it takes, you are strong enough.
After days of living in the present moment I arrived back in South Africa as a richer man. Richer in mental, spiritual and physical health. Richer in experience and richer in friendship.
I am grateful for Dwain taking me on this incredible journey. Sometimes you need to get out of the noise to remember who you truly are. And that is what this has done for me. I wish this for everyone.
